Politics Is Not For Me

Published by at 5:15 pm under Blog

Politics of any kind – I just don’t get it. The backstabbing, the misrepresentations, the spin, the between-the-lines commentaries, the lies – I don’t understand why anyone would want to surround themselves in that poisonous world.

Perhaps some of it is well intentioned, but it’s tough to see it.

    Right. This requires a bit of a response. Watch my space.

    “social relations involving intrigue to gain authority or power”
    that definition sounds like it applies to absolutely everything.

    I seen a great billy connolly quote about it there somewhere, think it was on k8??

    Those men and women believe their opinion needs to be heard. The ones who don’t , just like the sound of their own voice.

    Either way, they’re mé fein’ers and I cannot find it in me to give any of my time towards them.
    To hear them constantly bitching at who has the bigger salary breaks my heart.

    We’re in bloody economic debt and they couldn’t care less about the general population. Thats the majority. There may be few that genuinely want everything right . I stand to be proven..

    Hi…big long reply coming your way as soon as I get a chance. I disagree with your outlook on it, you’re looking at the political circus and not the good work that they do for their constituents.

    For the enormous pension at the end of it? 🙂

    @GreenInk I will – and what a lovely space you have.

    @B’dum I know I can’t get away from it – it’s everywhere. But still, I fancied a moan.

    @Dermot I think anyone who truly wants to be a politician, shouldn’t be allowed. Lobbyists and passionate people who believe in a cause are one thing, but those who inherit positions and campaign on a large party’s policies are surely misguided.

    @r As my only politically minded friend, I look forward to the reply.

    @Donncha Hmmm…I think you may have swayed me. Perhaps a career in politics is just what I need. 🙂
