    Ha, classic.

It’s one of the most surprising videos and idea for viral I’ve ever seen.

    Fair play to them.

Oo dear. We’re fierce proud of ourselves, arent’ we? I’m vaguely embarrassed by the crappiness of that to be honest. Like my pompous college lecturer in his breathy voice said, ‘poh-verty of lahnguage!’

Still though, ‘I wouldn’t touch it with a bag of mickeys’ is inventive, hats off to him!

@Jo Don’t be so quick to dismiss. I love language. I adore the English language in fact. No, I don’t think the excessive use of ‘bad language’ is a good thing, but using it in a clever way to draw attention to something as artistic as the Darklight festival is brilliant.

And yes, ‘I wouldn’t touch it with a bag of mickeys’ – genius!

I don’t have a problem with the ad, as such, more the people, and what they’re like. And how we feel about bad languge here.

Don’t get me wrong sometimes it’s sublime, and hysterically funny and liberating etc etc. And sometimes it’s not.

I was in a class once where some other git pompously insisted that nobody talked like O Casey’s characters. And I told my mother in law’s friend’s story about trying to promote the Tesco clubcard, offering it to some little old man who retorted
‘I’d rather join the fucking French Foreign Legion than join your fucking Tesco Clubcard’.

And then our lecturer nervously told a story a friend of his had overheard at a Moore st fish stall, where a lady was spending too much time selecting prawns, and the Old Moore st lady stall holder said
‘Them’s prawns, love, not pricks, they aren’t going to get any bigger if you keep touching them.’
