Six Six Six

Published by at 4:05 pm under Blog

As the cycle of life trundles on, so too does the life cycle of the meme. I was memed by B of PositiveBoredom and I have to write six random things about myself. He in turn was tagged by Raptureponies, who was tagged by loads of people.

Here are the rules copied from PositiveBoredom:

  • Link to the person that tagged you.
  • Post the rules on your blog.
  • Write six random things about you in a blog post.
  • Tag six people in your post.
  • Let each person know they are tagged by leaving a comment on their blog.
  • Let the taggee know your entry is up.
  1. I think I broke my coxix when ice skating a few years back. It was my first time Ice-Skating and I was trying to impress a girl by going really fast, I fell awkwardly and landed arse down on the pointy bit on the back of the skate. Being a fool, I didn’t want to show that I was hurt, so I kept going around the rink – in complete agony.
  2. I sang at a lot of school shows, at religious ceremonies, at the graduation thingy, on the grass verge at lunchtimes…anywhere really.Christina Ricci
  3. I used to be in a Samba band, specialising in the Tamborin (not Tamborine!). Rattat tat tat at at tat…
  4. When I was young I had a huge crush on Christina Ricci as Wednesday Addams. I think I still love her!!
  5. When my Granny was in hospital, with only a few days left to live, I was in an awful state. To take my mind off things I built a set of shelves for CD’s, DVD,s and books. Everytime I look at the shelving now, I think of her and smile. Odd?
  6. I love watching Snooker and I am currently watching Ronnie O’Sullivan creating a flying headstart against Ali Carter in the World Championship.

So, I am going to tag the following people. Don’t feel you need to reply – it’s just a bit of fun for your lunchtime. Keeping with B’s ambitious tagging, I tag Foley. Maybe Lottie would be up for it? How about you Mr Ben? And I know how busy you are Ken, but you might take a few minutes out for it? What about you, D2? And how about the LionessKeeper?

Not because it’s a meme, but because we share a mutual respect for Christina Ricci ๐Ÿ™‚

What’s this tagging nonsense I ask you? And some character known as Ken is more busy than I? Well he commented back first, so he’s not that busy.

I’ll have you know I’m (badly) attempting to critique the “banter” between the readers/sportspeople/weatherguy on BBC news 24.

I can handle it on Sky News because it’s a bit common, but please, not on the BBC. And the newsmen are ugly on BBC News 24. I like that. It gives them the “we’re the BBC so we have ugly people reading the news – we don’t care what they look like because they’re good at their jobs”. But the ugliness kills the banter. I like the idea that the reasonably attractive Sky people might be flirting. I bet that Kay Burli (how does she spell it?) is a demon in the sack. My wife (an actual newsperson herself, and reasonably demonic in the bedroom department) replies with a “meh”.

I’ve spent the rest of my Sunday playing Mario Kart Wii, buying a barbeque (the last in the shop – the display model, so it was already built – sweet) and building on my newfound friendship with Corona Extra. It’s the lime! The LIME!

By the way – take a look at Ricci in the new Speed Racer trailer. You shan’t be disappointed.

I’m a busy person I’ll have you know. An extremely busy person.

Oh God, I just read the rules. Damn you, sweet limey Corona.

@Ken Respect? Yes, that’s right – I respect her. It’s not perverse ogling, it’s respect!!

@Ray Thanks for the comment. Did your teachers never tell you to read the whole question before answering? It’s lucky you don’t do your show like that – I mean, what would it be like if you just jumped into it and started spewing nonsense without any real preparation. Yep, it’s lucky you don’t do that!!! Eh… (By the way, what’s your Wii MarioKart ‘friend code’ – I challenge you to a race!!)

@Ray Now now… of course I’m busy.. but it’s Darren after all, sure you have to reply to the chap!

Phhhwwooaarrr, that last show of Ricci is stunning.

  10. Darrenon 06 May 2008 at 10:00 am

@Ben Stop moaning, just do it!

@B’dumX2 It’s scientifically proven that by the time the meme gets around to everyone in existence right now, the world will have repopulated itself to keep up the pace. It’s a perpetual cycle!!!

@Lette Don’t be silly – it’s all natural. She just woke up one morning and the paparazzi took that picture.

@Anto Yes, yes it is! ๐Ÿ˜€

  11. Maryon 06 May 2008 at 1:39 pm

No point in me blogging as I don’t know how to do it!!! LOL

  12. Darraghon 06 May 2008 at 3:45 pm

@mary – do it on TFS! Sure if I can, anyone can.

Just start something over there and then send me an email – I’ll show you how! ๐Ÿ˜€

  13. B'dum B'dumon 06 May 2008 at 6:41 pm

but what does happen if a children of men like scenario occurs?

  14. Darrenon 07 May 2008 at 9:58 am

@B’dumX2 Eh, um, well it seems people will just be too depressed to care, so the spread of the meme will be slowed to a snail’s pace…but it will still be going. After the destruction of mankind, the only things left will be cockroaches and memes.
