Go Away People!!!

Published by at 12:27 pm under Blog

There’s somewhere between five and twelve million people outside the door of my office protesting about the budget. I can’t get out to get my lunch. Make them go away please!!!

Update: Feckin’ students are out there now. Thousands of them…with drums no less!!!

Get someone to lure them away with medical cards on the end of a fishing rod like in a cartoon or something

I find this immensely funny. 😆 Older people have barricaded you into a building.

    Darren,

It took me ten minutes to get from Kildare house to Lenster house.

Some woman gave out to another that I shouldn’t have been allowed out while they were protesting!

Have you gone for lunch yet?

Still haven’t been able to. Catching up on work I couldn’t do because they were blocking every route into Lenster House.

In the end of it all I had to use the side enterence near agroculture house.

    CDrazy stuff.

You’ll see pictures of the protest on my blog at digitaldarragh.com

@B’Dum Damn that might have worked.

@Anto I opened the front door and three OAP’s fell in the corridor. The dirty looks they gave me…just because I opened my front door. Argh!

@Darragh I agree. You and your sort should only be allowed out at certain hours. 🙂 I managed to get out – it took me ten minutes to get from my office (two doors from Buswells) down to Dawson Street. Cheers for the image – my camera isn’t working.

oliver twist would have a great time among that crowd, steal hankies while old people wave there fists at Darren. I went to school with a bloke called Darren Byrne, he was quite scary!

Tell them someone is giving away free chocolate laxatives on Grafton St.

@Paddy That definitely wasn’t me. I’m timid, meak, weedy even. 🙁
(btw send me your address – I have a surprise for you)

@ThriftC Remember the scene in Father Ted when the old ladies attack?

I love it, go ON the wrinklies and the mad students.

Looks like you work in a great spot there Darren, I’m MILES away from anywhere nice to have lunch/shop/saunter/meet mates. Pah, industrialisation my foot. Social aspect of office locations should be #1 priority.

I must admit when watching the news last night I felt a dramatic pang of sadness that we had come to this, as a “first world” country. Our elderly so angry – do they really need that sort of stress at this stage of their lives?!?

This is why a recession is good, people start to get pissed off again about shit. If we’d only shown how pissed off we were at the government at a more suitable moment, like the last election.
Less apathy is always a good thing, even when it makes it difficult to have lunch.

Maybe now people will wake up and use their vote in the next election!

    Wow, that’s a big protest!

I didn’t know the students were going out today.

I’ve got a back log of spunk balloons I could have gone through. They’re like water balloons only they’re filled differently, in case you didn’t get that.

I need to be kept in the loop, people.

u know what i find funny and also quite stupid on the gov’s part..
it is that these people over 65 are the same people that were the very first successful protesters back in the 60’s and early 70’s !! .
i dont know much about the 60’s and early 70’s but what i do know is that alot of protesting went down ( plus they smoked some sort of herb that i cant quite put my finger on …. )

nonetheless, did the government seriously think it out?
if the gov’s sense of mind was “ah sure they’re only old fogies they cant do much” , then the government is an idiot IMO..

like i said; these people were the first proper successful protesters and the government seemed to think they would get away with all that lark..

i just have one word for that then,

    lol

@MJ I love the area I work in actually. Right in the middle of everything and only 5 minutes from my DART.

@Andrew Plus I would hope that originality and creativity will receive a boost from the ‘hard times’ too.

@GM Sadly it will all be forgotten by the next election again.

@Jo Between pensioners and students, there was apparently 25,000 protesting yesterday. Incredible! The government have no choice but to listen.

    @Maxi …

@YerMan Actually, that’s a good point. Grey Power is a strong force.
