Wow - thats a lot of memories you have there Darren. However, it is more something an 85 year old would write instead of a young lad like yourself. You could have a lot more memories of the street yet to add to your memories. ;)

Wonderful, I was only born in 1990 but the description of Dublin from getting off at Connolly was pretty much identical to my early memories.

I remember seeing an XXXXL shirt in Guineys.

@Coastal Thank you - drunken rambling becomes me.

@GM Sounds like the same Guiney's to me. And I never knew the terminus was up that way. I'll have to go rooting for some old pictures. There was a great shop on the quays for finding old photos of Irish towns - I wonder if it's still there.

I can go back much further!

If Guiney's was a large fronted shop over two or three floors on Talbot Street at the corner of Gardiner St, then it was Denis Guineys. It was there pre WW11. Denis Guiney bought Clery's in 1941.

The top part of Talbot Street (side door of Clery's to O'Connell St) was called North Earl Street. It was terminus for most north side buses.

The Irish Life Mall was not ther in my day, but I cannot recall what was there before it.
