Now I’ve been looking at the 80’s one, The Star Wars one and one of my favourite ever You Tube videos – the German kid one. What does that say about me I wonder?
Darren, excellent posts since I’ve last been on. I’ll make comments on a couple of them while I’m here:
1. I don’t really like Dyson airblades at all. They’re fun but I find them far less effective than standard dryers cos the key to getting your hands dry is rubbing them together and you can’t using an airblade.
2. jack L is indeed brilliant and it is to my great shame that I haven’t seen him live in a very long time.
3. In relation to Mr. L I think you badly misused the word ‘seminal’. this is a pet hate of mine as it is often misappropriated by sports broadcasters to mean ‘critical’, ‘essential’, ‘vital’, or ‘important’. It means none of these things, look it up.
4. Hope you found someone to take those Juliet Turner tickets off your hands, thank you so much for offering them and sorry we couldn’t make it.
5. I’m in work and don’t have speakers or earphones so i can’t check out today’s video but I’m sure it is brilliant.
6. I really have things I should be doing right now (teaching maybe, i’m not sure…) but your blog is much more entertaining than doing those things.
7. Do indeed try to become an ambassador for bullied kids. I try to do my best for them from my side of the fence but I’ve realised it is more easily missed than you think. Just go on a rant about how you feel if necessary. I’ll try to point anyone I think is in need of hearing an empathetic voice in your direction.
8. Bloody good work overall, you’re getting good at this stuff, keep it up.

In the end up, we didn’t get to go to the concert. ๐ It was just awkward timing and laziness. I hope to catch her again in May.
I have actually written a post on bullying, but it’s very emotional and full of rants (as you said). There’s no real point behind it and it just sounds like the whines of someone who needs to get over himself. I’ll give it another go though.

I should have known that you would use seminal correctly. It’s just that its misused so much now that I start to wonder at times if anyone else actually knows what it means. So much so that I don’t like to use it myself. Using words incorrectly for the sake of sounding clever deviates me in an esoteric, visceral manner.

As for ‘seminal’, ’tis correct. I likes me English I does. I referred to Jack’s song Georgie Boy as seminal, as it was his first solid and critically well received self-written track, which influenced everything that came after it. Seminal: “Highly influential in an original way; constituting or providing a basis for further development”. It’s not all about semen, you know! ๐
